I am delighted to be able to introduce myself to you. I have been a music teacher in the Christian school system since 1995, beginning at Immanuel Christian School in Lethbridge, Calgary Christian High School in 2000 and now at Heritage Christian Academy since 2021. I also have been a church musician since receiving a Diploma of Church Music from the King's University College in Edmonton and both a Bachelor and Master degree in music performance from the University of Alberta. I was awarded a scholarship from the Johann Strauss Foundation in 1988 for a year of music studies in Vienna, Austria, which was a fantastic experience. My wife Ellen and I enjoyed performing music with my daughter Rachel and son Sam while they were growing up. Now they have grown up and are actively involved with music in their own communities. My daughter is married, graduated with a degree in English literature from Ambrose University and is living in Medicine Hat. My son graduated from The King's University with a degree in music performance (saxophone) and here is a link to his Youtube page - totally cool what he is doing. He is now studying at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. We enjoy traveling and have done a back-packing trip through Italy and Greece, as well as a road trip to St. John's, Newfoundland. Movie making, hiking, canoeing and playing goalie for hockey games are also activities that I enjoy.
Music is an amazing gift given to everyone to give praise and glory to our God. Because of this, I am very committed to a Christian education that offers a strong music program. I look forward to working with your children and teaching them how music is a way to communicate our faith and joy in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
