CCS Music Parents Association

Working hard on the tour to Quebec City

Welcome to the CCS Music Parents Association page.

The MPA has been developed to assist our middle and high school music programs thrive. As a large and complex program with many moving parts, our music instructor, and his pool of emerging student artists need our help to support their activities – everything from raising new funds for equipment and tours, to coordinating concerts, planning tours, and providing transportation.

The MPA does not require that your student is currently in music; it simply seeks adults who love and recognize the importance of music as a performance art that brings glory to God through the development of our students’ musical, academic, social, and cognitive abilities.

The MPA is constructed with specific tasks and leaders. By splitting responsibilities and work, more can be done more effectively and in less time. This is a model used with great success in other secondary music programs – most notably those groups that strive to serve a growing number of students, and make a significant impact in their communities.

Whether you identify as a leader or a follower, there is something for all of us to do to support the Music Program. The MPA is currently looking to fill the following roles:

Many of these roles can be shared between parents to help manage workload (the demands may alter slightly from year to year). Sharing a role also helps the MPA ensure information and process continuity from year to year. We ask that parents interested in taking a lead position consider doing so for the full year.

Thank you for helping us pursue excellence in our music program at CCS!
